Technology played a pivotal role in the 2008 election and has forever changed the political landscape. New media is changing not only politics and democracy—but society and business, too. Through a series of practical training sessions, Netroots Nation attendees learn how be to more effective in using technology to influence the public debate or promote a candidate, cause or organization. We also host training-focused events throughout the year, including our first ever Bay Area New Media Summit, a project of the Netroots Arts and Education Initiative (NAEI), Netroots Nation’s 501(c)3 partner organization.
The 2009 Netroots Nation Campaign Academy is packed with more than 20 workshops covering the critical skills that every progressive activist needs to know. These trainings will feature experienced professionals from dozens of the most well known organizations and publications in the progressive movement. You can view the full list below.
We’re also providing some incentives to learn this year. Anyone who attends three or more sessions in a single track or five or more trainings of any kind will "graduate" from the Academy and will receive a certificate, a free 160-page training manual from DFA and a one year membership to Democratic GAIN.
