ICE continues to surveil and abuse immigrant rights across the country. Join us for a session on how to use the cameras in our pockets to help fight deportations and hold ICE accountable. Participants will learn basic digital security, tactical tips for filming ICE, strategies for making the biggest impact with video, and how to protect valuable footage. You’ll walk away knowing how to safely, ethically and effectively film ICE for evidence and advocacy.
Palika is a media and immigrant rights activist from Chicago. She is the US Program Coordinator at WITNESS – a human rights organization based in NYC that supports activists around the world to document human rights abuses safely, ethically and effectively for evidentiary and advocacy purposes. Palika’s work focuses on using video documentation, data and storytelling to expose ICE, Border Patrol and other law enforcement, fight deportations, and protect the rights of immigrant communities and communities of color around the country.
