Breaking Up With the White Moderate Once and for All

Fifty-seven years ago, Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. wrote that the “white moderate” is the biggest obstacle to black freedom. This training, by a white anti-racist educator, focuses on the premise that the same problem exists today in a new context. Then, as now, fighting white supremacy is the right thing to do. Unlike in the past, fighting white supremacy can also win elections by appealing to an interracial coalition. This training will feature concrete examples of why and how white candidates and predominantly white organizations should shift from a conventional way of thinking aimed at the white moderate to an anti-racist approach that simultaneously fights white supremacy and builds solidarity with voters of color.
