Do you think GIFs are the smallest unit of change? We do! We’ll share strategies for creating compelling GIF stories to intervene and change popular discourse around issues that affect our communities. We will create GIFs using the best free tools online. Participants will have gained important skills in transforming existing videos into GIFs and editing existing GIFs to reframe narratives online.
Kedar is an anti-caste activist, and a game nerd. He has created GIFs for various organizations over the years including South Asian Histories For All(SAHFA), Equality Labs, and The Anti-Eviction Mapping Project. His work with SAHFA was featured on BuzzFeed(https://tinyurl.com/y9puuh44). He is currently CEO and Co-Founder at PlayLoops.io where he continually obsesses over the best ways to amplify social impact organizations online.
Theeba Soundararajan is Lead Software Engineer and Co Founder of PlayLoops. Theeba has several years experience working as an engineer in Sillicon Valley. While working as an engineer, Theeba helped to build and co found several bay area technology spaces that support and center the leadership of marginalized communities, including her own Tamil Dalit community.
