For many activist organizations, the data is unreliable, incomplete — let’s call it broke. As a consequence, we spin our wheels because we don’t have the information we need to be effective; we rely on “vanity metrics” that don’t truly offer any insights about our work; we focus on quantity at the expense of quality. It’s not great. So let’s take your data from broke …to woke. With better data, organizers can understand what is working, improve skills and tactics over time, bring more resources to the campaign, make smarter strategic decisions, and lead more effective teams. We will break down key metrics you need to move members up your leadership ladder and build a data-informed campaign plan.
