Arash Azizzada is a writer, photographer, and community organizer based in Los Angeles, CA. As an immigrant and the child of Afghan refugees, he is deeply committed to collective liberation and building communities. In 2018, he spearheaded advocacy efforts to ensure Afghan women were part of the Trump administration's negotiations with the Taliban in Doha. Ahead of the United States’ withdrawal from Afghanistan, he launched Afghans For A Better Tomorrow (AFBT), which focused on evacuation and rapid response coordination efforts throughout the United States. As AFBT’s executive director, he aims to transform the lives of Afghans through grassroots organizing, communal healing and capacity building for a better tomorrow to ensure Afghans everywhere can lead dignified lives. He is a former Rockwood Inside Out Fellow and is Immigration Hub Fellow. He has been featured on Netflix, the New York Times, Vice News and more.
