As the California Justice Director at the Ella Baker Center, Jennifer combines her exceptional and extensive policy work experience with her passion for justice to further the goals of the Books Not Bars campaign through state and local policy change. After graduating from UCLA with a B.A. in English and a B.A. in Korean, Jennifer pursued her interest in the criminal justice system at the University of San Francisco, School of Law. Jennifer’s past experience includes working with the San Francisco Board of Supervisors and organizations such as Project Angel Food and Habitat for Humanity. In 2011, she was selected as one of 10 fellows across the country for the Youth Justice Leadership Institute, an initiative of the National Juvenile Justice Network. In 2012, she was selected to be a fellow of the Budget Advocacy Team of the Women's Foundation of California's Women's Policy Institute.
