Jess loves to foster challenging conversations between unexpected partners, and sharpen the tools changemakers need to get shit done through authentic and powerful storytelling. That's where the opportunity to find new and sustainable solutions happens. She most recently worked as director of communications at the New York City Mayor’s Office of Immigrant Affairs in the city that raised her. Before moving back home to the Bronx, she spent several years in Washington DC working at the United Food and Commercial Workers International Union (UFCW), Latino Victory Fund, the 2016 Democratic National Convention in Philadelphia, and Media Matters. Jess is also a founding member of the Board of Directors for "Pay Our Interns,” a Vice Chair for the Williams College Alumni Fund, and has published feature writing in Women’s Health, Refinery29, Bustle, the Washington Post’s The Lilly, Remezcla, Afropunk, and Fierce by Mitú. She’s a proud Dominicana, and soon to be first time mom always looking to make some good trouble.
