Joan Jones is the Founder and Acting Executive Director of The National LGBTQ Workers Center. They have over 10 years of experience as a campaigner, advocate, trainer and labor organizer leading social justice campaigns across the United States. Joan began her career as a labor organizer for SEIU 925 helping to form and cultivate strong unions for early childhood educators. There Joan went on to found SEIU 925’s Organizational and Equity and Inclusion program. Prior to founding the National LGBTQ Workers Center, Joan served as the Millennial Coordinator for Service Employees International Union HQ where Joan led SEIU’s young worker engagement portfolio and strategy in the United States and Canada. Joan is the co-author of LGBT People in the Workplace: Demographics, Experiences, and Pathways to Equity and a current Atlantic Fellow for Social and Economic Equity at the London School of Economics.
