Karthik Ganapathy is the ACLU’s Director of Rapid Response, in which capacity he helps the organization engage with breaking news stories and shape its overall political advocacy efforts. He is a communications strategist with experience in political campaigns, government offices, and advocacy organizations across the country — most recently having served as New Hampshire Communications Director for Bernie Sanders’ 2016 presidential campaign. He previously led communications work against the Keystone XL pipeline as a spokesman for 350.org, the global grassroots organization taking on climate change, and advised progressive political candidates at Red Horse Strategies, a New York-based consulting firm. Karthik began his career working for then-Public Advocate Bill de Blasio, and is a native of Southern California.
